Engagement Director, Humphreys & Associates, USA
J. Greg Smith is an Engagement Director with Humphreys & Associates responsible for Earned Value Management Systems implementation and training for H&A clients. Greg has been associated with H&A for over 10 years. He has earned an MBA from the University of Houston and a Masters in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Texas A&M University, plus he completed the in-resident Program Management Office course at United States Defense Acquisition Univeristy. He has over 25 years of program management systems experience in both industry and government.
Greg is currently the Knowledge Management Lead for PMI’s Earned Value Management Community of Practice. He was also the Chair of the Project Management Institute committee developing the Second Edition of the Practice Standard for Earned Value Management.
Greg has also been the Program Cost and Scheduling Manager for both L-3 Communications and the Northrop Grumman Corpooration. In both organizations he was responsible for managing large groups of budgeting and scheduling professionals on large U.S. Government programs.
As a Program Control Lead with NASA for 17 years, he was the Earned Value Focal Point for the Space Shuttle Orbiter and International Space Station programs. In this capacity he functioned as a Review Team Chief for the implementation of EVM across the Space Station Program.
Greg has also been a regular presenter and instructor at Earned Value Conferences in the United States, Europe, and Asia, as well as multiple PMI Global Congress events. He has a proud association with EVM Europe.
